Wavering Presence explores the threshold between surface and perception. Through its relief-like structure and the interplay of light and shadow, the work transforms form into a sense of movement and shifting presence. The monochromatic surface directs attention toward texture, rhythm, and the subtle dynamics of perception, creating an experience that is both physical and ephemeral.

Description

Wavering Presence

This artwork explores a state that emerges at the threshold between surface and perception. Rather than capturing a specific moment, the work reflects an ongoing relationship between a seemingly stable form and the subtle movements that continuously reshape its appearance.

The relief-like structure becomes visible through the interplay of light and shadow, where the undulating surface functions not only as a formal element but also as a metaphor for the shifting nature of presence itself. The work exists simultaneously as a physical object and as an immaterial experience: viewed from close range, it reveals its material structure; from a distance, it dissolves into a field of movement and rhythm.

The monochromatic approach reinforces this ambiguity. The absence of color is not intended as a reduction, but as a means of focus, directing attention toward the relationships between form, light, texture, and perception.

Wavering Presence ultimately inhabits a space of transition, where form is understood not as a fixed condition, but as a continuously evolving state of being.
